ELAINE DALY TAKES CHARGE PAGEANT ADVISOR CUM MENTOR FOR MISS UNIVERSE MALAYSIA 2014

Wednesday, July 3, 2013 – Kuala Lumpur: It was a casual yet engaging atmosphere at the Aria Italian Restaurant in Plaza Damansara here today. Those who were in attendance were about to be treated to more than what you’d commonly expect from a former beauty queen. Striking in both personality and looks, Elaine Daly is the epitome of what one would describe as a woman with substance.

The event which was intended to introduce Daly’s involvement in the upcoming Miss Universe Malaysia Pageant 2014, which will see its first round of eliminations take place at Publika Shopping Gallery this 13th & 14th July from 5 – 8 pm, quickly took a turn for the better with a demonstration of dedication and selfless commitment for the future generation of young beauty pageant aspirants. “I think it’s apt for me to come back in a meaningful way to the organization. It was tough back then not having a proper advisor and mentor. It’s important to have one,” says Daly.

Elaine, who was once adorned the crown in 2003, is intent in doing her part in elevating the standards of local participation in the international stage. In taking on the role as Pageant Advisor and Mentor, Elaine’s goal in sharing her experience and knowledge had already began for some time now with the guiding role she has played for reigning queen, Carey Ng, who is being prepped for the 62nd Miss Universe pageant in Moscow later this year.

Giving indication that it’s not all a bed of roses, the ex-queen was quick to address the standards and expectations required of someone representing the country at an international level. “Every year we have girls who don't really know why they enter the pageant. We always hear things like 'for fun' or 'because I wanted to do something different.’ I want to make sure they do know and they have the fervor and drive to make the mark,” says Daly with ironclad resolve.

Without intending to reveal too much, the organizers of the Miss Malaysia Universe 2014 hint of Elaine’s involvement as just the tip of the iceberg. According to sources, the event this time around is expected to dispel the common stereotype with some mind altering perceptions. Apart from a reality TV series, one can expect interesting features leading to the final gala with more public participation and interactive involvement which even includes game applications that can help contestants win.

The annual pageant which started in 1962 is organized by Miss Universe Malaysia Organization and jointly sponsored by Sephora, VIP Koreana, S P Setia and Aria Italian Restaurant.
